Jonwil :
Hi, i recently posted about my i5 being too hot when not over-clocked. It was running at around 60 degrees Celsius at full load. I took a look at the heat sink and i think i used too much thermal paste (see images) will this be the full problem, if so how much will doing it correctly cool down the cpu? Images:

evo cooler ?
paste if your using that junk paste with it throw it in the bin get mx4 paste temps will become much more stable
clean old paste of with isopropyl alcohol cpu and cooler dont forget the gaps in the heatpipes.
( cotton swabs are usefull.)
dry of wait a few mins to be sure its dry
apply a pea size ammount on the die spread it evenly with a gift card hard plastic till you can not see the die add a lil more if nessary. then lock on again once secure go around the cpu cooler with a cotton swab go round the were the cpu and cooler meet to remove squeezed out paste this acts as a seal.
run fan at full speed
and make sure its pulling to the rear fan of your case
should drop your temps down you should be sitting idle 30c gaming 45c
