Hello. I recently bought a Gigabyte GTX 760 graphics card off of Newegg, and am having some problems. There are no power cables in my tower to plug the card in to, so I'm kind of lost. The only solution I can think of is an external power cord running to the card. Is something like this what I'm looking for? Thanks.

You don't need a new computer, but a new PSU might be in order, also, 700w is maybe a bit high, while the one you linked is inexpensive, PSU is the one place you don't want to skimp in quality, a good one can keep your computer running like a champ for years with no problems, I'd recommend a 550w Seasonic or XFX. You should be able to get one for around 50$ and that'lll be enough for that card and the rest of your system. I've got a 650w XFX that I bought about 5 years ago, give or take, and I'm litecoin mining a 7870 XT and a 7970 XFX Double D. So 650 is more than enough for a 760. If you have some patience you can wait for rebates, I bought my parents a 650w modular XFX pro edition for like 39$ after the rebate. That was I think...

Need a new what? Computer? I just bought this computer something like 6 months ago, so that's really out of the question. So you're saying that, since my computer doesn't have the PCI? cables to plug the card into inside the tower, I can't use this card?

Here's a tiered list of PSUs, mind you, it's not ALL manufacturers and models, but it'll give you an idea where you're sitting as far as quality goes.

Thanks for your reply. This is kind of what I was asking in my first post, will something like this allow me to run a cable into my tower to run the video card, as there isn't an internal cable to plug it in to?

Okay, I understand that I need a new PSU. Does that mean the current PSU in my computer need to be taken out and it needs to be re-wired? Or is it very simple, like just plugging in different cables? Sorry if this sounds repetitive, I'm definitely not an expert at this stuff.

I understand now. So basically just like in this guide. It seems simple enough, I was over-complicating it in my head. Thanks for your replies.
