Hi, I am Isaac.

I have been looking around lately and have bought all of my computer parts except my graphics card. I am using my friends gtx 580 right now but that wont do. I was wondering if the features that Nvidia offers make it just as good or a better buy than the amd r9 290x. Other than that, I will wait for the r9 290x to have after market coolers on it. My budget can expand up to $700 if need be. I will be playing Battlefield 4 mostly on this rig along with other games that don't take that much power to run. Also I should mention that I am planning on recording footage maybe in the future. Please let me know if I should get the gtx 780/780ti or amd r9 290x

Thanks,
Isaac

If you're able to spend that much, you are pretty much obligated to choose the 780ti. It's the best card on the market at this time. It outperforms a 290x noticeably. If you have to choose between the 780 and the 290x, I'd go with the 290x. But the 780ti will beat them both.

780TI hands down. get the evga sc awx version. you will not be disapointed, it also supports shadow play for recording and streaming your games, with minimal hit to performance.

you need look no further.

That just means GPUBoss hasn't done their testing on the cards yet, or it hasn't been published yet. Here is a bunch of gaming benchmarks for the three cards.

As you can see, the 780 Ti wins every time, even above the famous $1,000 GTX Titan.
