First Build Ever, Anything Left That Needs To Be Done?

I just finished putting together my build, installing the OS, etc. Now I'm just wondering if there's anything left that needs to be done? Do I need to install any drivers? Should I check temperatures and make sure they're within safe levels? What temperature range should my CPU, GPU, etc be inside?

Basically, if anyone has advice about anything to finish up my PC to make sure its totally ready for gaming, please let me know.

yes, you should install drivers for your devices, and checking temps is good to see if your heatsinks and stuff are working properly.

The first driver you probably want is the GPU driver. You can find the latest version at AMD or NVIDIA's website, depending on what gpu you have.
Next, I would go to your motherboard's website and download the latest LAN drivers, sound drivers, etc. Also, don't forget to get the latest version of the BIOS.
And yes, you should monitor temps and stress test your processor and gpu to make sure that it is performing properly. Safe temps depends on what your components are. We can be of more assistance if you post your full build here.

Here's my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2m2xf

So how exactly should I "stress test" my build? What kind of results should be expected in such a test?

For stress testing the processor, I recommend using Prime95. I use it on my FX-6300 and it really pushes the processor to its limits. It's great to make sure that the processor is stable under full load. To monitor the temps, you can use HW Monitor or Core temp. Since you are using the stock cpu cooler, you should expect around 60-65c under load.
For the gpu, I use MSI Kombustor to stress test it and MSI Afterburner to monitor temps, fan speed, etc. They're a great combo for gpu programs.

After all of that, I like to run 3DMark11 because it stresses both your processor and gpu at the same time. And at the end, they give you a score based on your computer's performance and it allows you to compare your score to other people using similar hardware to make sure that your components are running properly.
