Random Hardware(I think) crashes, power supply or motherboard issue?

This is a difficult issue to explain, because it is so sporadic, and completely(apparently)random, but I will do my best. The progression is always the same, only takes about four seconds, and has no seeming cause. The screen 1)image warps slightly 2)stops responding to commands 3) I notice several fans have shut down[not sure which ones] 4) screen blacks 5) I notice this: case fans ONLY are running, hard disk light is off, power light is on. after switching the power supply off to prevent damage, I open it up, strap my wrist, check all the cables, the heat of the power supply, to a quick on/off to make sure fans are working. They aren't. So I wiggle some wires, completely disconnect the PSU, disconnect and reconnect my CPU fan, plug it all back in. Voila, working fine. Few days later, happens again, exactly the same issue, exactly the same fix. This has happened three times, and I am wondering if it is starting to damage my hardware, and what is causing the problem. Does this sound like a PSU issue or a motherboard issue?

Note: I built it this most recent September. In case that helps.

Thanks for any input!

Solution
Sounds like PSU for your rig need about a good 450 - and yours runs about 455 on the 12 volt, could you borrow a different one to test with, otherwise next guess would be the mobo, ECS mobos are on the iffy side to me

Alrighty. I'll ask around to see if I can get a slightly higher wattage PSU for borrowing. I agree, not a fan of ECS either, but for the requirements I had for it, and my budget it was the best I could do. in about a year or so, I will be replacing the mobo, cpu, hard drive, and case, just as an upgrade. So basically everything, but until then, I would rather not blow my system. Thanks for the help!
