does it matter what PCI slot i use?

hello i got an aftermaket cooler and clearence is fine but i want a bit more room bewteen it and my graphics card, i have a P67a-GD53 mobo

According to the spec's you have two PCI-E x16 2.0 slots so you should be able to use the second PCI-E slot. But even at that because the fans on GPU's are facing down from the CPU it is not going to really interfere with the cooling of either component. Most every motherboard is setup that way and it does not really cause any problems for anyone else.

That said it also depends on the motherboard the best thing I can say is to try it as it may or may not work without having the GPU in the first slot.

thanks man, i wasnt to worried about it affecting cooling more about wanting some more room bewteen the cooler and graphics card. ill give it a try though
