I did check that thread that all other people with this problem are referred to, tried all the solutions, none of them worked. The problem is, that once (ONLY once) the computer did start up, this was without the graphics card installed.

This also came after the realization which made me feel stupid that I had my power supply switched off. (Which I obviously turned on) Wellit worked once, so I reinstalled my graphics card, put on the side panel, and hooked it up to a monitor, pressed power...Nothing.

Sorry for the long post, but I'd really apreciate some help.

Solution
Connect firstly the power button, dvd drive, start the board and see if booting.
Then power off, connect all other components one by one and test after each installation.

I apologize, i'm being an idiot today...

i'm using an Intel Pentium g850, my mobo is msi h61m p31(G3). I'm using the cx600 as my power supply. I have a 4g kingston ram stick. My graphics card is an xfx 7770.

No. I believe I may have shorted my motherboard, I heard somehwere that touching the wrong place with a screw driver can break the whole thing, and while I was using my screw driver, it did slip a couple of times...

So I just need to have the Ram and power supplies connected? And I should be able to short the mobo with a screwdriver, right?

After I put the mobo back into the base, I need to connect the dvd drive and hard drive via SATA cables. I also need to connect two system fans as well as my usb/audio ports and the power/reset buttons and leds of course. Then last but certainly not least I have to install the graphics card.

Hey, glad your system is working Outside the case!!! Now, let's cautiously move it Inside the case. First, believe this is your motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130659

MicroATX in size. One of the Biggest issues is shorting out the motherboard (MB) due to incorrect placement or number of stand-offs in the case. Your MB has six (6). Look inside the empty case and assure that there are 6 and ONLY 6 standoff's mounted on the motherboard tray in the case. Also, assure that each and everyone lines up exactly with the holes in your MB. When you install, assure the size of the head on the screws you use don't cover any of the traces on the MB, (the thin spider like lines on the MB). (sometimes there are 2 types of screws provided w/case, smaller head ones are ones you want)

With just the RAM, CPU, and MB installed try to startup the system.
- Then, turn off the system
- Connect up one component (maybe DVD drive)
- Startup the system (I'd connect the front panel switch ONLY to MB header...)
- Then, turn off the system
- Connect up another component (maybe the Hard Drive (or SSD))
- Startup the system
- One by one connect up each piece till you have the whole system connected.....
