I'm building a new pc and would like to clone my 500GB WD to my 1TB Seagate, except I don't want to clone the OS. Since it came with my current pc I can't move it because I'll be using a new mobo. And I will be installing new OS onto new SSD via dvd. Thank's in advance.

Solution
It will be hassle free if you install the programs on the new drive, rather than clone it from the other drive. Programs always needs to be installed you cannot just copy over. I know it takes time but this is the better way to do the job.

ya that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the help, I appreciate the quick answer. Also what's the best way to delete everything I have stored on the old drive except the OS and programs that came with the pc (so I can resell pc after new build is complete).

You can use Ccleaner to do the job, it will erase the programs you want, and will clean the registry entries too. And its free.

Or if you want to erase the programs securely, that it cannot be recovered later, then use Revo Uninstaller Pro, which is a paid software, but I think the evolution version can also do the job : http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Good luck, and you are welcome.
