Hi I have an old gtx 465 that i use in my backup pc. i was puting it back after doing some cleaning and I didnt notice that one of the locks or lever for the ram stick was down. i put it in normally but then i noticed that the lock for the ram was blocking the card.
as i took it out and inspected the card i noticed that it was missing a transistor.
I tried to find the missing transistor but i could not.
i also have not tried the card yet as im afraid that it might hurt the other components

heres a photo of the missing transistor

Hi
Firstly that is a capacitor not a transistor.
The good news is that if it had been a transistor the card would be dead, but there is a good chance that that is a filtering capacitor and so there is a really good chance the card will work.
Go ahead and try it you have nothing to loose.

It should not hurt any other components at all. The worst case is the card will not work or will not be stable if it does work but that is about all that will happen. Either way you should save up for a new card because even if it does work there is no telling for how long.
