Looking to buy a laptop and those two are my top two choices

http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y510p-59375625-i7-4700MQ/dp/B00E64AHH2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1387621113&sr=8-7&keywords=lenovo+y510p

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Blade-Gaming-Laptop-256GB/dp/B00FJT51LK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1387621184&sr=8-2&keywords=razer+blade+14

The Lenovo is offering quite a bit more bang for the buck, but reviews aren't exactly stellar in some aspects

The reviews are mentioning a really bad screen on the Blade as well as some problems concerning the way it handles heat (keyboard getting too hot to type comfortably, is there anyone who's had hands on experience that can confirm this? Is it really as bad as they make it out to be?

With the Lenovo there are people mentioning overheating issues and a few reviews report a not really good keyboard quality as well as networking issues? Is there anyone who has used this notebook and has had these issues occur?

Also interested in any EU based firms that sell the Blade as so far I've only been able to find US or Asia based companies that offer it.

I would say the Lenovo is better (lenovo is a good company with FANTASTIC customer support, and I can vouch for that).

HOWEVER

That 750M sli really drives me away from the laptop. You will encounter a lot of problems running SLI on a laptop. Take the normal desktop SLI problems and then shove them into a cramped space. I think you would be better off getting a single more powerful GPU (such as the GTX 765M in the blade). However, with the blade you are paying for the gamer brand name, so I wouldn't get that one either.

This is what I reccomend. MSI is a great company for gaming laptops, and [strike]this is argueable[/strike] this is better than both of your options, and still a great price. It's got a 770M, Quad core haswell i7, 12GB RAM, etc...

Hope this helps :)

The MSI seems great for a desktop replacement, however I'll be carrying my laptop to class almost every day and the 7.7 pound thing is kind of an issue here. Is there a lighter option you could recommend?

PS: I've never run SLI/CF before. Are the issues you're talking about micro-stutters and crappy driver support on new games or something more serious?
