where are drivers stored

I'm doing a new build using my old hdds and I want to back up my files before reinstalling windows. Only problem Is I don't have a working desktop to work with then in. So if I just format the windows partition and reinstall there will that remove all the old drivers and keep my personal files?

"upgade" option will keep your files from desktop, my documents etc.
it will delete drivers and installed programs

"Custom" option will allow you to format the drive and make a partition. ALL FILES WILL BE DELEATED when partitions are formated or deleated
