I am reasonably smart when it comes to computers, and some of these questions were answered in other posts but i just want to make sure before i spend a lot of money. before i list the questions these are my specs
CPU Intel-i5-3450 3.1GHz (Up to 3.5Ghz
GPU-AMD-7350
New GPU-GTX-760 (EVGA with Blower-style cooling
PSU-No Idea model or brand 300W
Mobo-No Idea model or brand PCI-E 2.0
RAM-16GB

Questions
1) Will the GTX-760 work in a pcie-2.0 port

1a) I read somewhere that PCIE-2.0 can only handle 5000MHz of ram speed or something like that so because the 760 runs at 6008MHz will it work or not (will the on-board computer glitch because its trying to use more speed then it can)

1b) Will there be a bottleneck using a 3.0 card in a 2.0 slot

1c) I don't think that my case is big enough for the ATX cooling fans so to get the heat out as fast as possible i will get the blower style card, but I have heard that it gets hotter, so the card that is supposed to remove heat from the case gets the case hotter?????

1d) Can i upgrade from a AMD card to a Nvidia card without issues

1e) will this card give good FPS on Planetside 2 Borderlands 2 (with Physx) ect. at 1440x900 and at 1080p if i upgrade my monitor

2) i know i need to upgrade the PSU so is thermaltake good quality, without meaning to start a fanboy war Thermaltake vs Corsair

2a) are all PSU's the same size because i am not sure if it will fit

2b) how hard is it to install a PSU

2c) any PSU recommendations

3) do i type too much

Solution
1) Yes it will.
1a) View above.
1b) Yes there will be a bottle neck, however we are talking a FPS or two.
1c) The card is meant to exhaust it's heat it creates out the case, the hotter the air you put into it the less it will be able to cool itself.
1d) Yes, just make sure to remove all drivers before doing the install of the new card.
1e) Here is a link of the 760 review with a few games benchedmarked. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7103/nvidia-geforce-gtx-760-review
2) There are a lot of good PSU makers out there, I have heard nothing but great things about Corsair, although I rock a silverstone. Main concern here is to get at least an 80+ bronze rated power supply.
2a) Most PSUs are the ATX form factor, just make sure that is what you...
no problem with the slot........ you're too paranoid about that.

card will be plenty good enough at either res.

uninstall nvidia drivers from add/remove programs. power down. pull nvidia card/install amd card. reboot. let windows find card and do it's thing. you can then install the previously downloaded amd drivers and install....... to avoid a sound driver issue......... do a custom or advanced install and do not install the hdmi drivers.

this one should be plenty

2a) Most PSUs are the ATX form factor, just make sure that is what you currently have and there will be no issues.
2b) Not hard at all to be honest. Just unplug the old one from the wall first of course, then from the mother board, video card, and all other peripherals connected to it.
2c) Anything 80+ bronze rated, if you like a clean look inside your case, look into a modular power supply as well. Other than that Corsair, Silverstone, Thermal Take, Antech, among many others. Just read up reviews on the one that fits your needs/price range to make a good decision.
3) Maybe just a bit :p

Since you hae no idea about your motherboard, I have a question, Is the i5 3450 already installed or is this what you want to upgrade to?

To try and answer some of your questions:

1. Yes

1a) the PCIe 2.0 will nly allow the GPU to operate at 2.0 specs, no conflict issues will occur because the GPU is 3.0 capable.

1b) not with your rig/setup

1c) Blower style GPUs run hotter, not the case. The card shroud traps the GPUs heat inside it instead of dumping it into the case, so the GPU runs hotter but the case temp stays lower. Non-blower style GPUs run cooler but dump their generated heat into the case which is why it is important to have good case cooling.

1d) as long as you remove the AMD drivers prior to instaling the nVIDIA GPU drivers ther will be no conflict.

1e) Do your homework on what determines FPS

2) I only recommend using quality manufacturers such as Seasonic, XFX, Corsair (except CX series) or Antec.

2a) No

2b) depends on the case and other components.

2c) Would need complete system specifications to give an answer, your best guess or I don't know is of little to no help

3) Nothing wrong with asking questions, but to be completely redundant multiple times gets old and annoying And saying you are reasonably smart abut computers when apparently you don't have a clue as to system needs or operation, well, you're smart, you figure it out.
