noticable difference between 4.5GHz and 5.5GHz?

i know that i can get 4.5 out of my i5 2500k, but i'm thinking of trying for 5.5. yes, i know that only a small percentage can get that high. but, assuming it will, will i notice any actual difference day to day. i don't play games and am only air cooled - dark rock pro 2 - so it's rare that the cpu will be under load ie the temps will hopefully be fine

also, if can get 4.5GHz @ 1.23V, as a guess, what voltage would i be looking at for 5.5GHz

It will not make any noticeable increase in boot times or application. it will increase performance in multitasking and some cpu intense applications. it is a cost free method to increase a bit performance if you have the necessary skill and other cooling and mobo requirements.

cool, thanks. i sometimes do a bit of video encoding, so i might just see if i can get stable there and keep it as a saved profile, but just stick to 4.5 day to day. (maximus iv gene/gen3, dark rock pro 2 HSF, so i should be ok. skill... to be confirmed!!)
