My windows xp computer gets very very dark screen after boot up windows help !

When i boot up my xp labtop everything seems fine but after the welcome screen pop up i get very very dark screen i need to put a light beside to see things. I cant even see my cursor plzz guys help. This happend after i entered an webside and i dont think it is the website that made that. Ps: it is a labtop

Laptops typically have function keys to dim the screen backlight. It's the Fn-key plus one of the keys in the top row of your keyboard.

I have tryed the fn keys i have brightness on full but it is not workin it works when the windows logo shown up

It might be a problem with the hotkey driver. That's the driver behind the FN-keys. Download it from the support page of the manufacturer and re-install it. Post the exact make and model of your laptop, if you can't find it.
