usb 3.0 problems on asus P8P67 LE

Ok i am having an issue with my usb 3.0 card reader when i plug it into the usb 3.0 slots on back of the pc it is not detected but it works fine in any usb 2.0 slot and if i plug usb 2.0 stuff into the 3.0 slots it detects them,
confusing i know.

Any ideas why its not picking up the usb 3.0 reader?

i just uninstalled it and reinstalled it no change.

Go into device mgr. and uninstall your USB 3.0 controller and all connected devices. Then try running the extracted USB driver again. Reboot the computer when done installing the driver.

I have tried this there seems to be an issue with the installer not running at all,
just pops up on task manager for a sec then dissapears.

ok managed to get the up to date drivers installed still nothing happening.
still same issue.
