What free virus protection would by good for my Acer windows 7?
I need help on what free virus protection I should use. My computer constantly warns me my internet explorer stopped working. It's says it's finding a solution but I have to reboot. It happens all over again.

....AVG is a pretty solid free antivirus, though it's not real-time protection and as far as I know it also can't do scheduled scans so make sure every day or so or every time you boot up your PC just manually do a scan.....

AVG Free's virus shield is absolutely real time, and, by default, performs a scheduled scan every 24 hours. You are correct in that one cannot set additional scheduled scans in the free version (paid version required for that).

And install something like CCleaner and Malwarebytes. Both great system checkers. If after you run your chosen antivirus and the two suggested programs, you still have problems start looking at hardware issues - drivers, loose cables, internet provider issues etc
