Creative sound card issues

So my computer completely freaked out on me and was giving me constant BSOD out of no where. I elected to wipe it and reinstall windows 8 pro. Everything is working fine except for my sound card. It is a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic (or at least that is what is linked to the model number on it #04601-d)

I have tried the win 8 drivers from creative and they work but I don't hear any sound. I see the card in the device manager and under playback devices I get options for SPIDF Out (Creative SB X-Fi), Internal AUX Jack(Creative SB X-Fi) and Speakers(SigmaTel High def audio)

I have tried the internal aux which I assume is linked to my front panel since there is a cord going from the sound card to the panel, and I have also tried the straight analog green output on the back of the card with no success with either.

Does anyone know what I need to do in order to get this working? It is beyond frustrating, I fear it may just be the fault of an old sound card but it was working fine before I reinstalled 8.
