I'm planning to build a gaming PC with my son, with a budget max of £1200 (not including screen, mouse, keyboard, which we already have). I want a design which will allow for possible expansion to dual SLI, and possibly more screens and resolutions above 1080p.

To date, my tentative components list is:

CPU Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core £162.94
Asus Z87-PRO USB 3.0 Motherboard £143.98
Asus GTX 770 Nvidia GeForce DirectCU II OC 2GB £259.99
Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9W Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz £71.99
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive £69.57
Western Digital 1TB internal Hard Drive - Caviar Blue £49.35
LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x SATA Half Height Internal DVDRW Drive £14.06
Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev.A 140mm CPU Cooler Silent Fan £39.48
XFX P1-850B-BEFX Pro Black Edition 850W 80+ GOLD Full Modular Power Supply £119.82
Corsair Carbide 500R Micro ATX Midi Tower White £94.98

Any comments suggesting alternative components, possibly with a better performance/price ratio, or comments regarding potential problems/issues with any of the components (individually or in combination) would be welcomed and appreciated.

Many thanks for your time and expertise.

One concern I have is regarding the clearance of the Thermalright cooler in the 500R case. I've searched the web and a few people say there are a few mm to spare, and that this is not a problem. Please post if you have had this problem, or if the cooler will fit without issue.

Thank you.
