How to transfer game save files from one computer to the other.

I just built a new gaming rig, with a HDD from an older computer. My laptop has all my games on it, and I have a adapter that allows me to use a usb to connect to my HDD. I re-downloaded all of my games onto the new computer, but when I try to play the games, I can't find the saves. The game I'm trying to play right now is Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition. Please help!

  1. Find exactly where it puts the game saves. Move that file (or folder) over.

How do I know where that is?
  3. Go into the game files (program files) and look around until you see a folder that is called "saves". Is it on steam or standalone?

It's in there somewhere. You'll just have to look.
  7. I searched for "save" but nothing came up. Could it be in AppData or My Documents?
EDIT: I searched it in my AppData, Local, Skidrow, 203160, then storage, and found a file called save1.dat. Is that it? I've tried it before but it didn't work.

If you torrented it, that should be your save.

Check the Date Modified. Play the game. Save.
    Does that date change?
  10. The date didn't change

Then that wasn't the right file. Keep looking. It's in there somewhere.
