Hi, I'm planning a 4 monitors setup for my FSX.

2x 23" for the main view
2x 19" for instruments.

I want the game covering the 2 big screens only, and both smaller configured as extended desktop so I can drag and drop some gauges there.

Please tell me, is this even possible?
And if so, what kind of setup do I need? A SLI? 2 cards working separately?

Thank in advance.

Yes you need 2 cards, but not in SLI. Connect 2 monitors per card. Before buying anything, try to borrow 2 cards from someone to test.

Thank you, then I guess i'll be picking a low end card for the 2x 19".
By chance do you know how is the procedures to set this configuration at software level?

This is very straight forward issue, install drivers as you do for GPU's, the drivers will do the rest of configuration.

You dont necessarily need two cards, you just need enough display outputs. If one card has four outputs, your set.

I wouldnt suggest gaming across dual screens. Best example I can think of is a shooter, you have the monitor bezels running directly through the centre of the crosshair. Cant imagine it would be the best experience.

At the software level, I think it would have something to do with merging the screens into a virtual display and having that as your primary "monitor". Not too sure.
