If after you have blown dust out and it is still hitting those temps then you will need to remove the cooler and re apply thermal paste and re seat the cooler. Bad contact to the CPU is often the cause of overheating.

I Can hear and feel the fan running but if thats maybe just me would i have to open my laptop up to see if its spinning? and ive never opened up a laptop before so i would have no idea how to do what you said zink would i have to look it up on youtube? or should i take it to someone who knows how to do that?

I was so hoping it was just a desktop.. it is over heating though maybe a fan failure or in the process of .. could be a lot of dust or dead critters you never know..if its still underwarranty send it in for replacement. tell them its over heating as the cause.

Ah sorry i read it wrong I thought was a desktop not laptop. Thats a bit more tricky, you will need to remove the whole back panel off the laptop. I would try with compressed air first. Remove the plates off the back, HDD cover and Ram cover ect and give it a good blow out. If that dosnt work then unless you are technical i would take it to a shop and get them to strip it down.

well based off of the thermal readings you listed 93C is way to hot. I'm surprised your even able to use it. honestly if you run it for very long at those temps eventually it will stop working all togeather. and could possibly be a fire hazard as well. thats like 93ºC = 199.40ºF

Download speedfan, in most cases it will tell you if the CPU fan is spinning and at what speed (depending on motherboard). Keep an eye on the RPM to see if it fluctuates when the CPU is idle. That will give an indication if the fan is faulty

possibly bad batch of thermal paste were did you buy the laptop first of all and was it a refurbed model as the refurb guys at office depot walmart etc cut corners with thermal paste i found blue tac in my laptop.

anyway if your not confident in dismantling your laptop

buy some mx4 thermal paste and get a professional to dismantle and replace the thermal paste and have the cpu cooler and chip cleaned before applying of the paste

your temps will sit at 40-51c after that.

usually the paste thats in laptops also is cheap crap which hardens if it gets to hot

also clean out the fan grill this means removing the fan to get at the grill youd be amazed how much gunk gets stuck in there compressed air does not solve this issue it just shoves it inside the fan and breaks the fan.

ive downloaded speedfan and where would i fidn the RPM and my Pwm1 is at 0% is that a good sign or a bad? and automatic fan speed is checked off and right now as we speak it says :
HD0: 31C with a blue arrow down
Temp1: 46C with a green check ( somethings red arrow up)
GPU: 46C green check

i could try that but i also heard that artic silver 5 is good too? and i really dont care about price i just want my laptop to stop resetting. and the person that bought it was my aunt and she bought it at a store brand new not refurbished and who knows hopefully trying your way will help my laptop and do you know by any chance where or who i could ask/ pay to do the thermal paste and cleaning etc?

usa or uk ?

wouldnt recomend silver 5 for laptops it can cause a short if there clumsy with it.

as for mx4 paste its non conductive plus theres usually a thermal pad inside which should not be removed this prevents the heatsink shorting the mobo.

ive done this personally with my laptop when it was running high at 71 to 90 and was causing freezing after applying the new paste its like it was new again.

personally geek squad should be able to do this it isnt very hard to do to be honest since its not to hard usually.

whats your exact model of your laptop should be on the bottom e.g mine is c655d-s5136 if you give me the model i could see if i can find a do it yourself fix

usual things you need

bench or table
screw driver multiple precision screwdriver set
Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% Pure ( cleaning fluid dont breath it in well vented room preferable near window)
cotton swabs ( clean of chip and cooler apu is usually just one chip)
plastic gift card to spread paste even
mx4 paste

USA and Model is Toshiba SATELLITE L875D-S7332 and alright maybe once i buy the stuff i can try it out because im really careful with things i care about lol but if i just dont trust myself maybe i can ask geek squad to do it but they will probably charge me like addtional 50-80$ for them to do it and thank you soo much for doing this

no problem i dont mind helping out i do mods mostly and repairs second lol.

not the best video i could find but it does show him taking it apart he was doing it for a dc repair but your doing a laptop cooling repair

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t70fIjLu22Q

also add a can of compressed air they have changed the model of cpu cooler which is more effective but more annoying

once you remove the whole cooler remove the fuzzy bunnys inside also use tweasers to get the cpu fan header of or nails be gentle its a ah heck to get off.

if it has rubber on the bottom etc dont remove it its probly to prevent a short your only cleaning the place were the paste is.
also if you want to go the extra mile you can get thermal pads for the other exposed chips just dont get copper ones they do more harm then good make sure there thin too.

if you want ill write you a step by step on what to do when applying paste etc

could you please? and im planning on probably trying to get thermal paste tomorrow and doing all these things tomorrow once i get it

to recap you need following

bench or table
screw driver multiple precision screwdriver set
Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% Pure ( cleaning fluid dont breath it in well vented room preferable near window)
cotton swabs ( clean of chip and cooler apu is usually just one chip)
plastic gift card to spread paste even
mx4 paste
compressed air can
( optional not nessary thermal pads)

step .1 follow video of opening the laptop ( battery must be removed and screws under battery if any)
put the screws to side label which holes they came from best method use small cups and label the cups

step 2 remove the cpu cooler unsure what screws it will have. put these seperate important if screws do not undo all the way then it may be they dont come out all the way as mine as kind of like pins holding it down.
remove screws holding down fan. and heatsink pipe if any remove fan header gently with tweasers or nail to pry it loose from its connector. once thats done remove from laptop

step 3 ( window open for venting fumes from iso)
use cotton swabs and give the whole cooler a good clean with Isopropyl Alcohol apart from the vent and fan make sure copper is well buffed when drying. especially the part that makes contact with cpu if its nice and shiny it will make better contact. do not remove any rubber fixing or anything thats delibrately attached to the cooler this is to prevent shorting.

step 4 use canned air spray your inside of your fan well give it a good blast or if your out of canned air low setting on a vaccum cleaner hose do not go mental or youll break the bearing in the fan. spray or vaccum the vent as well to get rid of any dust caught inside.

step 5

go back to your laptop take Isopropyl Alcohol and cotton swabs get the chip under the cooler looking nice and shiny dry it off ( do not remove anything that is around the chip thermal pad etc if non exists and is just paste then its fine)
take your mx4 paste now and apply a pea size dot in the middle this is all you need spread it over with a gift card plastic ( make sure its clean) gently move the card over the paste so it spreads evenly across it till you cant see the chip.

now grab your nice cleaned out cooler allign vent and fan and cooler with holes and then screw in cooler
1 and 4 and 2 and 3 a bit at a time do not tighten fully until all 4 are in there holes or it wont sit properly. then screw in fan and nessary bits you unscrewed before. then go over your work make sure everything is back in place and plug up the fan again and take your time.

6 step. optional skip to 7 if not doing this

take your thermal pads for chipsets

cut these pads to size of your chip remove advesive tape and stick on do this to any chip that is big enough to grab your attension.

step 7

now put the backplate back on and screw back all the screws you have taken out and put back in the optical drive etc before putting that screw in.

and then pop the battery back in

take her for a spin

your temps should have dropped considerably fan should be barely a whisper

little shake if you here a bit moving around like its broken then something is damaged.

also once you put it together if the fan sounds very loud (louder then normal it could be the bearing is loose i doubt it though but if your using a vaccum hose id suggest no more then less then a minute or you will shorten the life of the fan this goes for when using vaccum on the fan vent as youll move the fan as well.

Also go around the base of the inside of the bottom cover with some of the iso alcohol and a cloth and dry it off get rid of any dust bunnys you see.

only use the vaccum away from the laptop motherboard do not put any metal near the board either. as static is worsed enemy of laptops and electronics alike.
