Does the card have a VGA port?
What's the model of the graphics card exactly (the port might be DVI-D)?

One is DVI-D and one DVI-I.
DVI-D to VGA does not work with simple adapter/cable.
DVI-I to VGA does work.

DVI-D and DVI-I to HDMI do work.
