Hello, previously I was running my games fine, until yesterday. I tried running my favorite game, Shogun 2, and I was getting 20 FPS on Low settings, when usually I get 80 FPS on High settings.
I decided to update my GPU drivers (Last update was 9/18) and it seemed to fix the problem. However, now during midgame, it lags up, many colored pixels go everywhere, and the screen freezes, tempatures of my video card spike to 100C, then the game unfreezes. Then the process is repeated over and over again, I tried different games, all with the same results. Please help me, should I try to update my BIOS or what? Thanks and have a nice day

try using msi afterburner without being in a game try turning the fan up to max speed see if you can hear the gpu fan.
check that the gpu fan moving and not dust bound. gpu should not get that hot. if the fan is moving slowly you have to rma the card.

It seems like I'm not the only one having problems with a 7790... I think it's a drivers issue, my 7790 spikes at 100% GPU usage and goes down to 0% WHILE PLAYING. I'd like to know if someone finds a solution, sorry 4 not being helpful :/
