computer freezes when i enable "power" system configuration. I would just leave it disabled but i have no sound if i do. Im using a dell inspirion n4110 with windows 7 64bit. All drivers are up to par. If I enable it, ill get to my desktop and in about ten seconds it'll freeze. sometimes it wont get to the desktop. computer will run fine with "power" disabled but I have no sound. also I don't know if it has anything to do with it but I have to restart if it goes to sleep because I cant get the screen back on. the power light is on and its still running.

Where are you enabling 'power system configuration'? Never heard of it. Built and fixed hundreds of machines.

Go into msconfig and about half way down the page in services, just says "power"

How in the world did you ever figure out to disable that? :)  Here's a link about it, confirming the sound issue with it disabled.

Does it lock up when booting to safe mode? If not, it's most likely a drivers issue. You may want to download the latest driver for your chipset, starting with Intel's chipset identifier utility:

Let us know how it goes with new chipset drivers directly from Intel for your Inspiron.

it'll work fine in safe mode and it will work fine minus the sound when I disable the power. I narrowed it down be disabling all the services and enabling one by one and restarting. it was a pain and took forever. but dammit I figured it out.lol

Works fine but with the "power" disabled I can't get sound or watch anything on YouTube or any videos for that matter
