When a airliner is moving through the air does it collect static electricity, and if it does where does the static electricity go? Does the static electricity stay on the plane or does it leave the plane when the plane is flying? If an airliner is flying form Los Angeles to New York how much static electricity would it accumilate if none of the static electricity leaves the plane? Will appriciate your comments.

when a plane is on the ground it can make a charge just like your car. in the air it wont. if it did all those videos of planes hit by lighting...you see them go poof. the place a plane would dischanged would be when the wheels touched down and if the plane had a higher charge then ground.
