I'm making my first PC build 1080p/60fps proof for the next 2-3 years using a 770. I'm only going to be using one monitor the whole way, and i've heard that SLI is mostly for more than 1 monitor. say if we're 2 years into next-gen and I can no longer play 60fps/1080p. would adding another gtx 770 on a single make it so that I can still squeeze out some performance and still be able to run 1080/60 for a while say a couple of months?
thanks. hopefully I explained it well

Depends what games you are playing. There is only one of my games that I'd like to add another GTX 770 for and thats Arma 3. All the rest I can get 60 FPS at max or very high settings so its kinda pointless for those ones.

As time goes on yeah it would be great to add another one, but as time goes on graphics cards get better and better so it might just be worth getting a new one instead and let that handle everything at 60FPS and not mess around with SLI. Computers are filled with to do or not to do, you'll only learn by doing it.
You could add another GTX 770 depending on the PSU you have. But for the most part it will really do nothing at all at 1080p at 60fps. Even my GTX 670 can do 60fps in most any game with no problems at all. Although most of the time I run 3x 27" monitors at 5760x1080 so for me SLI is a must. Personally I do not think you would need SLI for a single 1080p monitor.
