So, a couple of days ago I hooked my desktop up (after having not played it for some time) and began installing the games I used to play once again. All of them trusted, of course.
I was playing a mixture of Tera and Path of Exile for a while without any issues what-so-ever, but as of two, maybe three days ago I ended up running into one issue...
My desktop, which is hooked into the wireless router, started to disconnect. Yet, my laptop didn't. I swap ethernet cables with my grandparents computer (Because our computers are by one another.) and their desktop doesn't run into the same issue as mine.
When I disconnect, there's also no way to reconnect. I open the network center and all I see is "No connections are available."
I've also installed AVG Antivirus and nothing came up.

Edit/Update: When I troubleshoot, it tells me to check if an ethernet cable is plugged in. The only way to fix my connection is usually to restart my computer, since plugging the cable in over and over does nothing.

Solution
Next time you disconnect, open up your control panel, locate the "system" icon, and click on the hardware tab, then chose device manager (I may be a bit off in the steps, has been a while since I been on a windows machine). Locate the "Network adapter" entry, and see if there are any errors next to the icon (yellow triangle or red "x"). This may be a driver issue, I would recommend reinstalling even if no errors show. Just to cross off that possibility.

Next time you become disconnected, try opening up a command prompt (start>run>cmd) and type in "ipconfig/all", if you get a result that says no adapter found, or something along those lines, I would guess it is a hardware failure if it happens after you reinstall the drivers. If you...

If you have a spare network interface card laying around, try popping it into your machine, otherwise you can pick one up for about $5 (on sale) at your local electronics shop.

Though the fact a reboot solves the problem would point more towards a software issue, so hopefully the driver reinstallation does the trick. You should be able to find a copy of the required files easily if you navigate to the website for the manufacturer of your motherboard, or if your computer came with any installation CDs. You may also want to try installing malwarebytes. Sometimes it can pick up what AVG may miss. Additionally, running a check disk (right click c: drive, under tools). Given the period of inactivity of the computer, it couldn't hurt.

The last idea I can think of off the top of my head, is issuing the commands "ipconfig/release" and "ipconfig/renew" from the command prompt. Even if your control panel does not recognize a network, these commands will communicate with your router requesting an IP address. Though this will not work if there is a physical error causing the problems, such as a bad network interface card. You could also try plugging the ethernet cables into a different port on the router itself, perhaps a defective slot could be at fault.

Best of luck to you and look forward to a status update. - Sub

Right now I'm laying down for bed and saying "hello" from my laptop! I'll check this out tomorrow and try everything suggested! Thank you for your input, and I hope that it works! <3
