I have the HP pavilion p7-1400t with-

- intel Core i3-2130 (Sandy Bridge) (65W), 3.4 GHz
- 6 GB RAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (runs at PC3-10600 with Sandy Bridge processors)
- Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit
- •Radeon HD 7450 (1 GB) video card

I would like to upgrade my computer with maybe an i5 core and better graphics card so I could run a little better of games because I'm pretty limited at this point. The problem is I'm fairly new in the PC world and don't really know what I'm doing. I would like to know what kind of processors and graphics cards could be compatible and how I would install them also. Thanks I advance for an advice! Let me know if any more info is required to answer these questions

I was thinking like $200-$250 because that's what I'll get from family members this holiday season. I'm not sure how much changing power supply would cost, or even what changing my power supply means actually

max upgrade is i5 3350p this is your best and good gaming cpu

i have listed a full upgrade list of all you need

i5 3350p your max processor
cpu cooler
graphics card
power supply

for starters the i3 is enough for medium gaming leave the cpu and cpu cooler last on your list

go for the power supply and graphics card first then when you want better gameplay like high settings or max jump to the i5 and cooler later

pull plug from wall and lay on side and remove power lead

replacing power supply

unscrew bolt holding graphics card and unconnect

note pci power connectors are found on the power supply you use these not his way to power the card with molex connectors.

any questions leave me a pm and ill get back to you
