I removed my IDE HDD from my XP PC, as it kept rebooting over and over after installing a microsoft update. I put the HDD in an enclosure and have it connected to my Windows 7 laptop. It reads the HDD in the management area. I reassigned the drive letter to F. When I try to explore or open it, the message F:\ is not accessible. Access is denied.

Just a bit of history, Both computers are mine, no other users. Should I take ownership under me/administrator or me/user? Should I also check the include subfolders and objects?
I appreciate the answer and had the ownership under me/user, but didn't allow access.

still no luck getting past the no access popup.

this was the original c: drive from my pc,
I was getting a blue fatal error screen, having to do with logging on. Other posts I read about that error suggested a specific update was the issue, but those were from 2009.
