Hey everyone,

Just built my first build and it went great (well after a dead on arrival Asrock Extreme 4) I got it replaced and it all went well after that haha.

Specs:

i5 3570k
As Rock Extreme 4
8gb Crucial Ballistix
1tb WD Blue Hard drive
Corsair 750W modular power supply
(Saving to buy a GTX 770 within the next month)
Fractal Design R4 Black Pearl

Okay here is my question, i also bought a Hyper Evo 212 cpu cooler. Now i realise the Fractal Design R4 is a big case but im having a problem with the backplate of the cpu cooler touching the metal wall inside the case that divides the wiring from the rest of the components. Ive noticed the backplate has what i believe to be insulating tape its just it looks like its touching a part that isnt covered so metal on metal. Is this a problem? will it short out my motherboard? Ive been to scared to attach it just incase.

Thanks in advanced, ill remember to pick best reply.

No, there should be no shorting out in this case and if there is then you've got something wrong that would need to be investigated. I think the biggest concern I would have would be any potential aesthetic damage from the metal-metal contact, but then again I'm a perfectionist, even with areas of my case I would never really see.
