Looking at going from console to pc. I'm going to be playing games like bf4, crysis 3, and a lot of dayz at 1080p. I was thinking of getting the r9 290 graphics card but wasn't sure if I should. This is the setup I'm looking at building:

And also, if I do change the graphics card will I have to change anything else in the setup?

Ok we're getting off task if you reread the question I never said WHOLE build, my build is based off of this video, it's the max fps model he shows:

agreed, put him in his place! The r290 price premium is ridiculous right now. I would have recommended a 7970 as one could be found for around $ 280, maybe lower. Though now those deals are gone id say test your patience and search for a good deal on a gtx 770 or 780. There are alot of Elitist on the Nvidia side and their throwing their old parts into the fire for the new 780ti's. Earlier in the week i spotted a Asus cu II 780 for...

I can think of a few reasons, 1. The PSU is capable of running the card. 2. The case is not large enough to accommodate the card. 3. The case can't provide adequate airflow to cool the card. These would be causes to change the proposed build.

Earlier in the week i spotted a Asus cu II 780 for $380 on ebay , un opened and w'/ game coupons.

I was excited for the 290s, i really was, i shunned the reviews and figured they were overreacting. Sadly the thing is a lava fueled air plane turbine man. If you can put up with heat, noise, and $100 mark up it does offer good performance. I say find a cheap 780.

My Gtx 780 at 1315 core clock idles at 27c load at 50+c with the fans being deadsilent. r9 290 tops around 96+c...

Nobody ever said he would have to change the whole thing. He is asking if he needs change anything if he gets a r9-290. Which is impossible to answer since we don't know whats in the setup. Atleast I don't know as the link the amazon cart just shows an empty cart. So its possible something may need to change in the current proposed build, it's also possible all is good and will be just fine.

*HE'S* getting off task. I was never a fan of the Haf cosmetically, although it is large enough to fit whatever single card you may need to shove in there. The power consumption is actually lower on the Kepler chips so the psu would be fine. That ram kit was $50 dollars on newegg for like a week so i hope you were able to swoop it up. uh i love my fx 8350, it renders and handles multitasking well.

The new consoles cpus' are driven by cores w/ 8 partitions so games like bf4 are Finally starting to utilize multi threading. The single core performance is a bit underwhelming but nothing a modest oc wont fix, and these chips sure love to oc. I guarantee you, you will be able to get 400mhz right off the bat without changing mV's.

Well there are 2 possible systems in that Max FPS build list a build using the AMD Fx-8350 and the Intel i5-4670k. Either one is a good gaming CPU the 8350 has more cores and Intel has less core but the cores are faster. For the PSU I would get either the CX600 has questionable quality secondary caps, the HX750 is a good unit but for the same price you can get an 850w XFX which gives you the option of SLI(add a card later without having to upgrade the PSU) or save some money and get a gold rated 650w Seasonic which will run the system(with a single 290) just fine even with some overclocking. And for the 290 get the Gigabyte card its cooler is superior to the 290's reference cooler.
