volume icon showing red cross mark

Volume icon displays "no speaker or headphones are plugged in". i am trying a lot but couldn't get any solution.i tried even microsoft fixit, still i couldn't get any solution.please anybody can suggest me anything better. i went through device manager also but no way......please....

volume icon showing red cross mark means you have it muted. click on the icon again to unmute it.

or driver sweep the audio device driver and reinstall with updated drivers.

red cross in the volume icon means there is a problem with your audio drivers or muted

what motherboard and os do you use????
