I own a very old Cpu the Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 @ 2.60 Ghz. I'm going to get a new pc next year but still want to use this one to the max. I want to know how to overclock this cpu with stock coolers i don't need an extreme overclocking if i could take it up to 3.2Ghz it would be good for me( Remember currently i don't want to invest my money on anything). Please don't give me links to general core 2 duo overclocking i tried to read and understand them but they simply are too complex so just say me how to overclock this one !

Motherboard: MS 7525 Version 1.0
Ram: 2*2Gig DDR2 Ram
OS: Windows 7 ultimate 64bit.
Bios: Brand Phoenix Technologies, LTD, Version 5.08

Overclocking your Core 2 E4700 is going to be identical to overclocking any other Core 2 CPU, so you really do need to try to understand the general Core 2 overclocking articles.

You are probably going to be limited by your stock cooling as the 65 watt E4xxx CPUs stock coolers are not very good. What I'd do is drop your RAM strap down one notch (e.g. set it to DDR2-667 if you have DDR2-800 memory) and then slowly increase the FSB clock until you get instability such as blue screens, application hangs, etc. You can slowly add voltage if you do get instability. I'd keep a very close eye on the CPU temperature as well. Generally you want to keep them under 65 C or so. You will very likely overheat if you have to add any voltage as the stock Intel CPU coolers for these CPUs really stink.

Your chip has a 13x multiplier and a 200 MHz FSB clock. 3.20 GHz would be a FSB clock of 246 MHz. Do not just set the FSB clock at 246 and go, you really do want to work up to there so that you don't end up chasing down a bunch of instability later.
