FX8350 CPU Core And Socket Temp Differences

Right so I'm trying to get my AMD FX8350 overclocked as high as I can go and am running into a bit of a sticking point when it comes to temps.
After following some helpful guides I'm being told that my CPU temp max is 72C and my package temp is 62C.
However, when I'm cranking up the juice and slowly upping my voltage and doing my small FFT runs in Prime I'm getting some pretty large discrepancies in these 2 temps.

According to my package temp I've got a long way to go with 10 degrees to play with but the CPU temp is pretty much topping out with no more room to improve.

So, my question is this, should I be still pushing or am I at my limits?

CPU - FX8350
Mobo - ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
Cooler - SilverArrow SB-E Extreme
Case - Cooler Master Storm

You may be able to bring down your CPU socket temperatures by improving the airflow inside your case. That should give you a bit more leeway, since your CPU core temperatures are only at 52C.

Not technically, your CPU can still be pushed higher, but you need to have a fan blowing over the VRM heatsinks/socket of your MOBO if you want to utilize that extra room. You could still probably get another 100-200 Mhz with your current CPU cooling

That's very pretty but doesn't really add to the discussion. I know I can't push past 62C but my other temp is hitting its ceiling faster which is 72C. So are you saying to disregards to 72C reading and carry on pushing until I hit 62 on the package temp?

Okidoke. That's a shame then as I had this exact rig up to 4.8ghz pretty successfully (and that was in the summer) but since I updated my BIOS I seem to not have the same luck :(
