Hey all,

Back home I have 2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance 1600C9 LP on my main build. Is it possible if I use that RAM, and add an 1866C9 Vengeance 2x4Gb? Will it work? I haven't done this before so sorry if I'm a bit slow. If anyone can point out the restrictions on mixing different RAMs would be nice.

Thanks much.

Might or might not work - never a good idea to mix DRAM, even the same exact model - the forums are full of people looking to find why their mixed DRAM doesn't work and help to get them to play - it's a toss up, it might or might not - best and less headaches just to buy a single set of the full amount you want

Hmm so basically different RAMs with the same frequencies will work then? I don't want to waste the Vengeance at home so should I just buy an 1600C10 Vengeance Non-LP and be done with it? If it works, then I plan to.

Aww. Well, thought I should ask anyway. Just one more question then, is 8GB DDR3 RAM enough for overall use of the PC? Inc gaming, work, etc. If so, then I won't need to upgrade my RAM right?
