So i just built my new PC a few weeks ago with the following components:
Antec 750w Power Supply
AMD 8350 with Hyper 212 Aftermarket Cooler
24GB DDR3 1600 G Skill Ripjaws 9-9-9-24
Radeon R290 4gb 512-bit Vid Card

All in all ive noticed that most games i cannot go in and turn everything to max which i thought i should be able to. So i decided to do some benchmarking.
Without Overclocking i ran the Valley Benchmark and got the following score:
FPS:
54.9
Score:
2298
Min FPS:
23.4
Max FPS:
99.1
After some super light overclocking through the AMD Catalyst 4% GPU clock 2% power limit i got the score:
FPS:
55.6
Score:
2327
Min FPS:
22.7
Max FPS: [/b]
107.1
Ive double checked that the RAM timings are being properly read and everthing seems perfect as far as reporting, Card never sees over 89C, CPU never goes above 47C after 1 hour of gaming and Prime95. Ive tried the latest stable drivers, and the latest Beta drivers.

What is going on here? Dont these benchmarks seem really low?

the card has two thermal profiles. if the fan set at one set it has to run slower to stay within the thermal profile.

Sorry i guess i should elaborate on what mode i was benchmarking in. I was using the ExtremeHD setting and currently running a 1920x1080 monitor, those test results you linked are for 2500x1600 res. I will try switching the fan mode now.

Set the switch to the opposite position and reinstalled my chipset drivers (latest) no difference.

Any thoughts on this? Im disappointed in the results thus far, as far as benchmarking anyway. Cant think of what else it could be, everything seems correct.
