Looking to get into gaming. COD4, BF, Assasins Creed, etc.

I want to purchase three 1440p monitors (Asus PB278Q) - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1682...

Would I be able to setup these three monitors in an eyefinity type configuration using two GTX 780s in a SLI configuration? - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

Sorry for the NOOB question, been reading alot an trying to understand clearly before I make my purchase. Do you need to use the display ports only? How would I connect three monitors to two video cards?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes 2 780s will do more than required. 780s have enough display ports.

each has One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One HDMI, One DisplayPort.

so 2 you will have 2 ports of the above. 2x Dual Link DVI-I, 2x Dual Link DVI-D, 2x HDMI, 2x DisplayPort.

make sure you buy the compatible moniotors

like 2 HDMI and 1 DVI-I/D.

Hope this helps.

There are several possible ways to do this. we can suggest unless OP gives more details.

I thought about that too.. not sure to be honest. Just figured 1440p would look that much better?

Was looking at these Asus VN279GLs.. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1682...

Can I play on max video settings with three at 1080p monitors and the two gtx 780s?

"Just figured 1440p would look that much better"

I just wanted to know your preferences. I see you prefer 1440p not 1080p.

back to the topic. 2 x 780s will do the job. have fun

good config you have.

Yes even 3 760s can't beat 2 780s. thats why i said 2 780s will do more than required.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-760-vs-...

2 760s also will work fine at 1080p. But on ultra setting it will get shaky.

2 780s is ideal. 2 770s is required. 2 760s is sub-optimal.
