Did I break a motherboard heatsink?

On my MSI Z87 Gd65, I just got all parts but not the case. So i made a test bench and it all worked. Had trouble removing the MOBO power but I got it out. So When I wanted to put the mobo back in the anti static bag than box, I held it from the top head sink and I heard a tiny crack, like an UNCLIP Sound, So i checked below and It seemed fine, I saw the sticky pad thing that keeps it on here and one bit of it was up. Like when U removed a sticker u take it from the corner and u BEND that part a lot it stays stuck like that? Yeah its a tiny thing like that.....did I mess anything up?

ALSO, my brother is good with Computers and he came from the couch, walked over a carpet and in my room which the ground is marble, I asked for him to remove the mobo power, he didnt want to try too hard, I REMOVED it btw, so u carries it but he didnt ground himself and this was after everything was unplugged...could he have messed it up? I asked if he grounded but he said no, But hes really good with PCs. So I was a bit worried :S

Solution
Good point, I missed that.
Like Schrödinger's cat, while it is sitting inside a closed box, you will never know if it is alive or dead.

Only one way to know for sure: Test it.
Take it out of the box, build it, fire it up. If it works, it is good. If it doesn't, it isn't.
