Intel Equivalent to AMD?

I am looking to purchase an AMD Athlon ii x2 370k. I prefer intel but intel can be very expensive. What cpu from intel does the same performance as the amd?

If you are currently running an AMD rig you'll need a new mother board to go along with the CPU so keep that in mind. As for the comparable question Tom's has already provided a CPU hierarchy chart and your CPU is listed.

Intel Celeron g1610 is comparable. Pentium g3220 would be better.

In terms of performance the Athlon II X2 370k would be about equal to the Sandy Bridge generation Pentium G630 / G640. The Pentium G3220 is based on the current generation Haswell architecture and it is more powerful.

Amazon sells it for $68 (two whole dollars less than Newegg).

Yes but you are comparing a brand new AMD with a higher clock speed to an almost 3 year old Intel.
