On the get info does not give me option to change. I can take of but can no longer put anything on it. The drive is 320G and nothing is really on it, and would be a shame to get rid of it due to it's age of only four years. There is no switch on the device itself and the sharing and permissions gives me no options to change. What else can I do? Thanx

Use Diskpart commands to clear read-only and see if that works for you. http://windows7themes.net/the-disk-is-write-protected-how-to-remove.html
