I've currently got a Hp Envy DV6-7200ea which is running an integrated intel hd graphics 4000 with a dedicated Nvidia Geforce GT630M installed. I've heard of eGPU's like ViBox or something and I'm not exactly sure if it will work for my PC. If anyone does know, what is the best graphics card that I can upgrade it to (and yes, I know I will need an external monitor for this) which is compatible with my laptop. Also, is anything required in the laptop to run this like a specific slot or something? And if I don't have this slot, would there be a sort of adapter which allows me to connect it via USB or something? Some insight would help alot! Thanks. :)

Solution
Egpus typically aren't suggested because of cost. Vidock is $265-310 and you still need to buy a graphics card. A diy solution would be cheaper, but the adapter is still $110 and then buy whatever psu+gpu you want. You'd only get 50-70% of the cards' performance because you are limited to x1. So selling your current laptop and getting a better one would be better performance than your current with an egpu at the same price. If you still want to try it, you'd have to remove the access panel on the bottom of your laptop and remove the wireless card. You are going to use that mpcie with a pe4h-pm3n. You can buy whatever psu and gpu you want but would suggest at least a 7770.
