Hi everyone...
I have a GoFlex 1.5tb drive. I had regularly been using it on my Mac to copy files on, then plug into my LG digital tv to watch movie files. I also had no problem plugging into PC and viewing or editing files that way. Whenever I would plug into my Mac, the drives icon would automatically appear on the desktop. Whenever I would plug into the tv, it would automatically recognize the external USB device. Last week, the drive seemed to be intermittently working on the tv, only sometimes appearing. I tried it on my Mac, and it will not recognize at all. The problem is, when the drive is plugged into the power + TV/Mac, I can hear the drive start spinning, but no lights appear. I have had a similar problem discovering the drive on my Mac before, though solved the issue with re-installation of drivers I think. It's a new problem for the tv.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar problems, with TV/computer and if anyone has any ideas for a solution? I am not sure if the cause of the problem is the tv or mac, but the problems seemed to start with the tv, this time around anyway. I had thought maybe the problem with the goflex might've come from once or twice when it fell on its side from standing up. Help would be hugely appreciated...thanks

sounds like either the hard drive or the USB adapter in the enclosure is going bad.

If your not getting any lights at all or any kind of sign that the drive is being "Connected" like the sound a PC/MAC would make when connecting a USB device then its probably the USB adapter inside itself.
