Gaming PC components dilemmas...

So for the past 3 months or so, I have been trying to come up with best possible PC gaming build for $1500, but in the process, have come across numerous dilemmas with certain components. Instead of going to each forum section to ask individual questions, I thought I would go ahead and put them all here.

Which has the best price/performance ratio for a $1500, future-proof gaming PC?:
CPU: i7-4770k vs i5-4670k Remember this PC is primarily a gaming/general use PC, and so I wont be using advanced editing programs or anything like that. Also, is the i7-4770k more future proof due to the hyper threading?

GPU: GTX 770 4gb vs Sapphire R9 280x Toxic 3gb I've seen hundreds of pages on this topic, but neither one has emerged as a clear winner. Both cards have games that run better on them than their opponents. Will mantle really make a difference in performance? How many gbs of ram do you actually need for gaming now and in the future?

RAM: 8gb vs 16gb I originally wanted 16gb of ram in my build but have been hearing that 8gbs is more than enough. Is this true, and if so, will you need more in the future?

Overclocking: 3.5ghz (original set speed) vs 4.5ghz (overclocked) Are the advantages of overclocking at least 1ghz worth the risks of it overheating if you do not have the proper cooler?

Case: CM Haf 922 vs CM Storm Enforcer Which provides better cooling while at the same time has plenty of space for fans, cpu coolers, large gpus, and things of that nature?

DPI: 3200 DPI vs 5600 DPI (gaming mouse) Does DPI really matter? I'm planning on getting a Logitech m705 mouse, but the DPI on it is set at 3200 compared to a 5600 DPI gaming mouse.

Headset: Virtual surround sound vs stereo surround sound Which provides a better experience for surround sound while also having good quality as well?

These issues have been bugging me for months now, so any answer would be appreciated. Long answers really aren't necessary. Just a quick answer and thought for each or some of the categories will be fine. Thanks

Solution
The Core i5-4670K beats the Core i7-4770K in price/performance. In most games, their performance will be identical. Over time, the 4770K may end up performing a little better because of hyperthreading. But it's not going to be a huge difference.

3 GB VRAM is plenty for a GPU on the level of the 280X or GTX 770. 4 GB is more relevant for SLI usage.

8 GB RAM is currently sufficient. But 16 GB may soon become an advantage.

Overclocking is worth it, but not if you don't have proper cooling.

The HAF 922 and CM Storm Enforcer are closely related, but I believe the HAF 922 has a little more airflow.

DPI matters, but it's not very important whether the mouse can do 3200 or 5600. You wouldn't want to run with much more than 3200 anyway.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any thoughts on the virtual surround sound vs stereo surround sound? Also would you prefer the gtx 770 or r9 280x? From what I've read, the 770 is faster but the toxic 280x can be overclocked to match it.
