BSOD error: 0x116 ; Fuzzy screen, Frozen, pulling plug required

Hi everyone,

I purchased a new MSI Radeon HD 7770 graphics card a few days ago and installed it into my pc.

I have this frequent problem which I really need some help with!!

Every time I try to complete simple tasks like, installing new software or playing games I get the same old blue screen.

It is either a blue screen or my monitor goes fuzzy and it completely freezes, forcing me to hold the power button or pulling the plug.

I've searched EVERYWHERE but I can't seem to find a suitable solution for my problem.

My following specs:

-Windows 7 64bit
-Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.80GHz
-2GB DDR2 RAM
-MSI Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition
-750w Power Supply
-DVD-RW Drive

I've been trying to fix this problem for days now,

I have tried:
-Installing the latest AMD drivers
-Re-Installing Windows 7

Please could anyone help, I would appreciate it greatly.

  1. update your video drivers. uninstall the driver completely then reinstall fresh. Use the ati uninstall utility or something similar to remove all instances of the driver then reinstall
  2. Check your mobo bios for updates as well the gpu bios
  3. Edit: I was able to re-install the driver but I keep getting the same problem.

    Help anyone??
