I have a AMD fx-6100 3.3GHz, im curious to know if it could handle a Radeon r9 270x, I would really appreciate it!!

My specs now.

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 2GB

Processor: AMD FX-6100 3.3GHz , 64 bit 6 core

Hard drive: 1TB SATA III 7200RPM

Power supply: Corsair CX750

Chip set: AMD 760G

Solution
Ur 6100 should be fine the 270x is slight faster than the 7870, and if ur playing more multi core games it'll keep up, as cturbo said in single thread or dual core oriented games u may lose some performance.

Yes but I would still want to upgrade it as soon as possible after upgrading the GT640. The Bulldozer FXs have terrible single core performance. You'd get more out of your 270x with something more powerful like a FX 6300, 6350, 8320, 8350, or even a 4300/4350.

Hey,

I'm running an FX-6100 with an R9 280x and all the games I've played have no issues being cranked up to high/ultra settings.

Battlefield 4/Supreme Commander/EVE Online/Civ 5

Ok, not the best line-up of games to test it but it seems to run pretty well.
