I brought my desktop home for a few weeks and figured I would just hook it up to the tv I have instead of bringing the monitor too. I have a HD 6870 hooked up to a 1080p LCD via HDMI. I would turn the computer on but the TV would still say no signal even though I had it on the right input. After messing around with it a little bit the TV began displaying the computer upon start up. It worked fine for a day or two until the TV lost signal while I was watching Netflix. I've never had this issue when plugging it into a monitor. Ive tried restarting the computer many times and the TV will not display the computer anymore. Any ideas or theories as to why this may be happening?

Possibly the hdmi cable or the tv is no fully hdcp compliant.

I would lean more towards the hdmi cable. Is the plug inserted properly into the gpu? sometimes the case chassis can leave a lip in the way of the hdmi cable depending how large the plug casing is.

Check with another hdmi cable if you can or see if push and holding the hdmi end into the gpu changes anything.

Try pressing the "meta(windows)" key and the "P" key. That switches the video output, might work. You can also try right clicking dekstop -> Screen Resolution and messing around with the display settings to identify the TV.
