GTX 680 only at 80% usage on BF4

While playing BF4 I get crazy framerate spikes which I finally realize is due to my gpu having low usage.

When running Heaven and 3DMark11 the usage is at 100% but while playing BF4 on Ultra it fluctuates around 80.

The temps are under 70, it is overclocked but the issue persists even when I turn off the overclocking. My CPU is an i5-3750k (IVB) at 4.4GHZ.

What could be causing this problem?

I found a moderately good solution, it brings my usage into the 90s. I entered nVidia control panel and set power management settings from adaptive to prefer maximum performance. Good luck

Hey Gecko, did you figure out a solution yet? My GPU utilization bounces around all over the place too. It's never in the upper 90-100%

This is the closest thing I can confirm as an answer, the 600 series was designed around Power per Watt. It's a very annoying series and I would recommend a 750 (there are different models, to memory the TI BOOST was the best)
