This is a problem I have after playing a intensive game for about 20min or so. My fps is fine for the first 20min then it drops all the sudden for about 1min.

CPU under regular load while playing BF4:

CPU dropping FPS :

specs:

Is it my CPU causing the low FPS? I have disabled Cool n Quiet in the bios. did nothing.

What is the make and model of your power supply?

what is your motherboard? the motherboard may have cheap vrm that overheat and throttle cpu to prevent the damage.

ASUS LE boards have no VRM cooling and low vrm count. this can cause the vrm's to overheat. i will do some research

your motherboard has 4+2 vrm Phase Power Design. 8350 has 125w TDP, which puts a lot of stress on your motherboard. others have reported the same problem. try putting a fan close to vrm. if you have an aftermarket cooler, aftermaket coolers provide less ventilation to the vrm's

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for my cpu cooling, could that be it?

yes, that motherboad has very few vrm's that have no heatsink and aftermarket coolers like hyper 212 reduce the airflow to vrm's. stock cpu cooler blows directly at the motherboard and vrm's, while most aftermarket coolers blow air sideways

get a small fan blowing at the vrm area if you can

If I can't fit a fan, what would you suggest?

other than a fan i dont know. maybe turn the cpu heatsink the other way and do y6ou think that you could fit a 40,60 or 90mm fan ?

as i said before that motherboard has very few vrm's + the fact that you have an aftemaket cooler makes it even worse. other people on the internet also get throttling with this motherboard. i had this problem, when i overclocked fx 4100 with aftermaket cooler my cpu would throttle to 2.8ghz/2.2ghz. i touched the vrm and they were burning - felt like they were way over 90c. once i got a fan for the vrm's it stopped.

measure the distance between cpu coler and a chassis fan.the measure distance between chassis and cpu cooler. maybe a slim fan would fit, but you have to watch out so that chassis fan blades dont hit vrm fan.
the other option would be to install a smaller chassis fan, so you can fit a vrm fan

Ill try and fit a 80mm fan in there to cool the vrm
