I have a laptop with a Radeon 6620g APU, 8 GB of ram, 500 GB HDD.

It has a screen resolution of 1366x768.

I'd like to know if I can run Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 and at medium settings and Skyrim at low settings.

Also, do you guys think I got a good deal when I bought my laptop for ~550 dollars in the summer of 2012?

You should be able to play the ME trilogy without any problems with the Radeon HD 6620g. I tested ME 3 on my Lenovo IdeaPad Y470 with the GT 550m disabled, thus I was using the Intel HD 3000 which is slower than the HD 6620g. I decided to play the entire campaign and the single player DLCs on insanity mode and I actually found the game to be pretty playable. I believe the lowest graphic settings is called "Mainstream" and it is what I was using @ 1366x768. The Radeon HD 6620g is about as powerful as the Intel HD 4000 which is about 33% more powerful than the Intel HD 3000. Therefore, I don't believe you should have any problems with "medium" settings.

I have also decided to test Skyrim on the Intel HD 3000. With lots of tweaks and some mods to help improve performance I found that Skyrim could be played with the Intel HD 3000. Not very pretty, but playable Naturally it runs a lot better when I enable the nVidia GT 550m. Having said that you should be able to play Skyrim on low with the Radeon HD 6620g without having to disable a lot of things I had to do to get decent enough performance with the Intel HD 3000 like disabling shadows and grass.

My advice is to set the texture quality to high. The impact on performance is actually pretty low and graphics looks terrible below high texture quality when all other graphic options are set to low or disabled.

As for the value... it does not seem you overpaid for the laptop, but it also doesn't seem you got a great deal either.
