Hyper-threading in games

Right now I am trying to decide between an i5-4670k and i7-4770k cpu. The only real difference between the two seems to be the hyper threading that the i7 is capable of. My pc will really only be for gaming and general use, so would it benefit from the i7's hyper-threading? Also, how long will it be before modern games will actually start taking advantage of hyper-threading? Is the extra $100 worth it for the i7 just to be better prepared for the future?

Solution
Most current games hardly make meaningful use of more than two cores and I personally do not expect meaningfully massively multi-threaded games to become the norm any time soon if ever due to the significant extra development effort that requires.

Sure, the new consoles might motivate developers into thinking about threading more seriously but consoles are much more tightly controlled environments with lighter-weight OSes. Under Windows where there is no fully standard hardware or software configuration, working bugs out requires a lot more effort.

My guess is the i7-4770 will be obsolete by the time massively threaded PC games become common.
